viral.app is a subscription workspace for running creator programmes: you post a job on its Canvas UGC marketplace, creators apply with a full profile, and you chat, hire, brief, track and pay them without leaving the tool. Its homepage FAQ states that tracking works from public URLs on TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Facebook Reels and Snapchat Spotlight with no account logins from you or your creators, and payout rules (base fee, fixed salary, CPM tiers, CPA rewards, milestone bonuses, caps, payout windows) are calculated from that tracked performance. Payouts run through Talentir as Merchant of Record and carry a 3% payout management fee that the billing docs say is charged to the brand. The Terms name FMD Labs GmbH of Jena, Germany as the contracting entity. The marketplace rolled out to every workspace on 12 August 2026 and the vendor's own launch post describes it as public beta.

  1. Canvas UGC marketplace (job board)

Post a job across four types — Canvas UGC, Influencer, UGC Ads, Creator Manager — and creators apply to you; since the 29 September 2026 changelog each live job also gets a nightly list of up to 500 ranked matching creators you can invite. The billing docs state applicants are never capped on any plan, while jobs live at the same time are capped at 1 / 2 / 3 on Pro / Ultra / Scale; only creators you accept count against the plan's active-creator limit.

  2. Applications carry the full creator profile

The homepage FAQ and the launch post state each application arrives with portfolio videos, connected social accounts, languages and location, and that jobs are matched to a creator's country and languages.

  3. Login-free cross-platform tracking

The homepage FAQ states no direct account logins are required: viral.app tracks public TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and Snapchat accounts and videos from a URL alone, and the same mechanism can be pointed at competitor accounts.

  4. Performance-based payout rules engine

Set base fees, fixed salaries, CPM tiers, CPA rewards, milestone and flat bonuses, minimum view thresholds, caps and payout windows; tracked performance drives the calculation, which the Terms say the customer remains responsible for verifying and approving.

  5. Integrated global payouts at 3%

Payouts run through Talentir as Merchant of Record: automated creator invoicing, KYC and compliance monitoring, 50+ currencies, and creator-chosen claim methods (bank transfer, PayPal, Venmo, USDC, EURC). Fee is 3% per payout, which the billing docs say is charged to the brand; Talentir's own method fees (2.5% PayPal, 3.5% Venmo, the equivalent of EUR 5 on SWIFT and wires) come off the creator's transfer, per the creator payout docs.

  6. Private roster by default

The homepage FAQ and launch post state that creators you invite to your own workspace never appear on the marketplace and their dashboard does not surface marketplace jobs; a creator becomes visible only by joining the marketplace themselves.

  7. API, agent and n8n access

REST API with an interactive OpenAPI reference and x-api-key auth, an n8n package, and an Agents page with install commands for tools such as Claude Code. The billing docs state the API is "included with all Ultra plans and above" and that live API/MCP lookups draw 3 credits per request.

  8. Germany-hosted, per the vendor

The homepage states "Germany-hosted with industry-leading data protection" and the footer carries a "Built in Germany" badge. The homepage FAQ adds that internal creator, account, video and project data is never shared or reused, and that blog and trend content comes from separate workflows with no access to customer data. None of this is backed by a published audit or certification on the site.

  • Teams running high-volume creator programmes where many creators post daily and pay is largely performance-based
  • Agencies managing several client creator programmes at once — Scale gives 20 seats, 500 active creators and 20,000 tracked videos for $499/month
  • Brands paying creators across borders who want Merchant of Record invoicing, KYC and 50+ currency payouts handled for 3% rather than built in-house
  • Teams that already source their own creators and mainly need cross-platform post tracking plus payout automation over them
  • EU buyers who need a German contracting entity and the vendor's Germany-hosting claim

Look elsewhere if

  • Brands that just want a handful of videos delivered — nothing at the subscription tiers produces content; you write the brief, hire the creator and pay them separately
  • Anyone who needs licensing handled for them: there is no standard content usage-rights grant, and the vendor tells you to bring your own contracts
  • Buyers testing with a tiny budget — a paid month starts before your first hire, unlike pay-per-job marketplaces
  • Teams that want to find creators on the marketplace and then contract or pay them off-platform — marketplace hires are always paid through the integrated system and the Terms add a 24-month non-circumvention clause
  • Buyers without business status, whom the Terms explicitly refuse to contract with
  • Teams that need a large, proven creator roster on day one rather than a public-beta marketplace still onboarding creators
  • Anyone needing hourly or faster data on a self-serve tier — hourly refreshes are an Enterprise line item or a support-enabled add-on

Pros

  • 3% payout management fee is well below the published marketplace take rates elsewhere in this directory (Collabstr 10%, JoinBrands 15%), and the billing docs say it is charged to the brand with none of it deducted from the creator's amount (Talentir's method fees on PayPal, Venmo and wires still apply on the creator side)
  • Applicants are uncapped on every tier, so a live job can collect any number of applications at no extra cost — only accepted creators consume plan capacity (the number of live jobs is capped at 1 / 2 / 3)
  • Sourcing, post tracking, payout calculation and global payment sit in one workspace instead of a marketplace plus a spreadsheet plus a payments provider
  • Tracking needs no platform logins from you or your creators, which removes onboarding friction and lets the same tooling watch competitor accounts
  • Payouts for creators you bring yourself are not locked in: the /ugc-creator-payments FAQ says you can pay them another way and record it with "Mark as Paid", which avoids the 3% (marketplace hires are the exception — see cons)
  • German contracting entity (FMD Labs GmbH, Jena, HRB 523255) named in the Terms, with German law and, for merchants, Jena jurisdiction — relevant for EU buyers with procurement requirements

Cons

  • Subscription-first: you pay $99-$499/month before hiring anybody, and creator fees plus the 3% payout fee sit on top — Collabstr and JoinBrands cost nothing until you actually hire
  • The marketplace is young. The vendor's own launch post (published 13 August 2026, updated 15 October 2026) still calls it public beta and describes the network as "growing toward 10,000+ creators"; there is no independently verified roster size, and matching and ranking improvements are still described as shipping "over the coming weeks"
  • No content usage-rights framework. The Terms (updated 22 September 2026) make the customer "solely responsible" for its contracts with creators, including "the grant of rights to content", and the launch post (updated 15 October 2026) still says a contract builder is "coming" and tells brands to "use your own contracts" meanwhile, so licensing is entirely your paperwork
  • Hard caps on the things that scale: 10 / 50 / 500 active creators, 1,000 / 5,000 / 20,000 tracked videos and 1 / 2 / 3 live jobs across Pro / Ultra / Scale — a 15-creator programme, or a second job listing running at the same time, forces the jump from $99 to $299
  • Marketplace hires are locked to the integrated payouts: the /ugc-creator-payments FAQ says they are "always paid through the integrated payout system", so the 3% applies to every one of them, and the Terms (updated 22 September 2026) bar working with or paying a creator you met through viral.app outside the service for 24 months after first contact or the last managed collaboration, with liquidated damages of EUR 1,000 per breach or the vendor's lost fees if higher
  • API access, historical data and shared dashboards are gated to Ultra ($299/mo) and above (video downloads too, per the 14 October 2026 changelog); on Pro, performance data beyond the recent sync window does not stay available
  • Manual refreshes, AI tagging, Copilot and live API lookups draw from a monthly credit balance (3 credits per manual video refresh, 11 per AI-tagged video). Run out and those features pause until the next period unless you enable overage billing
  • The sitewide "7-day free trial" promise does not hold on Scale, whose rendered button reads "Subscribe" and whose product data carries no trial — still the case on 2026-10-15; the comparison pages now say "Pro and Ultra", the homepage CTA still names no plans
  • Business customers only — the Terms (updated 22 September 2026) state "Consumers within the meaning of Sec. 13 BGB are excluded" and let the vendor terminate for cause if a customer turns out to be one, so buyers without business status cannot contract
  • Fees are non-refundable and downgrades only take effect at the end of the paid period, per the Terms; a trial that converts to paid is not refunded if you forgot to cancel, and the refund carve-outs are narrow (a mid-period price change you terminate over, or termination for cause the vendor is responsible for)
  • The homepage's headline usage stats (100B+ views, 50M+ videos, $5M+ payouts) are self-reported, and as of 2026-10-15 we found no third-party audit of them on the site. The 1B+ vs 100B+ clash we flagged on /comparisons/modash on 2026-09-20 was gone when re-checked on 2026-10-15
  • No verifiable independent reviews: G2, Capterra and Trustpilot all returned 403 to this check on 2026-09-20 and again on 2026-10-15, and the Product Hunt listing for "Viral App" is an unrelated 2020 product at viralapp.xyz

Re-verified 2026-10-15 for the editorial review (first read 2026-09-20). Prices read on the rendered pricing grid at https://viral.app/#pricing in both toggle states (there is no standalone /pricing route — it returned 404 again on 2026-10-15). Default state is Monthly: Pro $99, Ultra $299, Scale $499, each labelled "per month" with "Billed monthly." underneath, no struck-through price. Switching to Yearly (toggle badged "20% off") keeps the "per month" label but changes the headline to a per-month equivalent — $79, $239, $399 — with the real charge in small grey type beneath: "Billed annually at $948. / $2,868. / $4,788." The headline number on the yearly view is NOT what you are billed. Each card's embedded product data confirms those figures (9900/94800, 29900/286800, 49900/478800 USD cents). No price changed between 2026-09-20 and 2026-10-15. All tiers are USD; the German site at /de serves the same USD figures. The Terms state "All prices are net and exclusive of statutory VAT unless expressly stated otherwise", so EU buyers should add VAT. CHANGED SINCE 2026-09-20: the cards now carry a live-job limit — "1 active job" (Pro), "2 active jobs" (Ultra), "3 active jobs" (Scale) — and the billing docs, homepage FAQ, /ugc-creator-sourcing and the launch post all state it: 1 / 2 / 3 jobs live at the same time, set per deal on Enterprise, pausing a job frees its slot, applicants stay unlimited. The billing docs also ration creator invites to 10 / 25 / 50 per workspace per UTC day. Our 2026-09-20 record said job listings were never capped on any plan; that is no longer what the vendor's pages say. CONTRADICTIONS ON THE VENDOR'S OWN PAGES (each re-checked 2026-10-15): (1) Free trial — STILL PRESENT. The CTA blocks on the homepage and the Terms page say "Try without risk with our 7-day free trial" and "Pay $0 today · Cancel anytime", and the /ugc-creator-payments FAQ says "Plans come with a 7-day free trial", but the rendered Scale card's button reads "Subscribe" and the pricing component's product data carries a 7-day trial on Pro and Ultra only, null on both Scale products. The comparison pages we re-read on 2026-10-15 (/comparisons/modash, /sideshift, /billo, /collabstr, /insense, /growi) now say "a 7-day free trial on Pro and Ultra"; the sitewide CTA still names no plans. (2) Refresh cadence — STILL PRESENT. The homepage feature block claims "Daily updates on all plans. Get up to one sync every hour, plus manual refreshes at anytime", but the plan cards show 24-hour refreshes on Pro and 12-hour on Ultra/Scale, only Enterprise lists "Hourly data refreshes", and the billing docs describe hourly sync slots as a plan-gated add-on ("Contact support to enable any of them"). Manual refreshes cost 3 credits per video from a capped monthly balance; on 2026-10-15 we found that cost in the billing docs, not next to the homepage claim. The Terms (updated 2026-09-22) also let the vendor change tracking cadence "at its reasonable discretion" without separate notice, except for a minimum frequency expressly promised in the plan. (3) Annual discount — STILL PRESENT, reworded. The "$120 migration gift" headline we read on /comparisons/modash on 2026-09-20 was gone on 2026-10-15, but the migration block on that page and on the other comparison pages listed above still shows "$120 annual discount" under "Included in the move", while the pricing toggle's own 20% is $240/year on Pro ($1,188 at the monthly rate vs $948 billed annually); as of 2026-10-15 we found nothing on the site reconciling the two. (4) Headline stats — RESOLVED by 2026-10-15. On 2026-09-20 /comparisons/modash showed a KPI tile reading "Organic views tracked 1B+" and a CTA card reading "100B+ Views tracked" on the same page; on 2026-10-15 neither figure rendered on that page or on the five other comparison pages listed above. The homepage still shows "1M+ Accounts Tracked / 100B+ Views Tracked / 50M+ Videos Tracked / $5M+ Payouts Issued"; treat these as unverified self-reported claims. (5) Fee disclosure by page — RESOLVED by 2026-10-15. On 2026-09-20 /ugc-creator-payments headlined "Low-fee global payout rails" and we found the 3% in none of its thirteen FAQ entries; on 2026-10-15 its FAQ opens with "Each payout carries a flat 3% payout management fee, paid by you on top of the payout and separate from your plan". The 3% is also stated on the homepage FAQ, /ugc-creator-sourcing, the Canvas launch post and the billing docs. PAYOUT LOCK-IN (first read 2026-10-15): the /ugc-creator-payments FAQ says "Creators you hire from the Canvas UGC marketplace are always paid through the integrated payout system"; only creators you invited yourself can be paid another way and recorded with "Mark as Paid". The Terms (updated 2026-09-22) add a non-circumvention clause: for a creator you met through the service, no collaboration or payment outside the service during the contract and for 24 months after first contact or the last collaboration managed through the service, whichever is later, with liquidated damages of EUR 1,000 per breach or the fees the vendor would have earned, if higher. CREATOR-SIDE FEES: none of the 3% comes from the creator, but the creator payout docs list Talentir method fees "as of September 2026": free for EUR/CHF/GBP bank transfers to an IBAN, US ACH, UK local transfers and stablecoins on Base; 2.5% on PayPal, 3.5% on Venmo, the equivalent of EUR 5 on SWIFT, US wire and other-currency IBAN transfers. NOT ON THE RENDERED CARD: the pricing component's embedded product data prices extra team seats at $15/seat/month (1500 cents) or $120/seat/year (12000 cents). On 2026-10-15 we found that figure in the page payload only, not on the visible card or in the billing docs, so treat it as unconfirmed. CREDITS: included monthly credits are 10,000 (Pro), 30,000 (Ultra) and 50,000 (Scale) per the 24 July 2026 changelog, matching the extra_credits meters in the pricing payload (the yearly Pro product carries 120,000, i.e. twelve months' worth). The billing docs price manual video refresh at 3 credits per video, manual account refresh at 3 credits per tracked video, video download at 3 credits (stored files free; the 14 October 2026 changelog puts downloads on Ultra and up), AI tagging at 11 credits per evaluated video, live API/MCP lookups at 3 credits per request and Copilot video analysis at 11 credits, with Copilot chat metered per turn from model usage. Credit-consuming features pause when the balance runs out unless you explicitly enable overage billing. Enterprise is quote-only via cal.com. REFUNDS: the Terms say fees already paid are non-refundable and not credited, and that cancellation or downgrade takes effect only at the end of the billing period with no refund or credit for unused time; a trial that converts to a paid subscription is not refunded because you forgot to cancel. The carve-outs are a pro-rata refund if a price change takes effect inside an already-paid period and you terminate, or if you terminate for cause the vendor is responsible for, plus narrower cases (loss of an essential data source, force majeure beyond 60 days, objecting to a Terms change). Terms published 20 May 2025, updated 22 September 2026; the German version is the binding one and the English text is for information.

Turnaround
None published. viral.app is the hiring and tracking layer, not a production service: timing is whatever each job listing and the chat negotiation with the creator set, and payment follows the campaign's payout window.
Min. spend
$99/month (Pro), after a 7-day free trial on Pro and Ultra only. No marketplace minimum and no per-job fee; creator compensation is whatever you negotiate, plus a 3% payout management fee on every payout made through the platform — which every payout to a marketplace hire must be.
Usage rights
None granted by the platform. The Terms of Service (updated 22 September 2026) give the customer "a simple (non-exclusive), non-transferable, and non-sublicensable right to use the viral.app software for the term of the contract", and their creator-marketplace section says contracts for creator services are concluded only between the customer and the creator, with the customer "solely responsible for the content, conclusion, and performance of these contracts, including the agreed compensation, the grant of rights to content". The Canvas marketplace launch post, updated 15 October 2026, still says: "a platform-native contract builder based on your campaign terms is coming. Until then, use your own contracts and share them in chat." Content licensing is negotiated brand-to-creator, outside the product.
