Number 1: Billo
billo.app · UGC Creator Marketplaces
UGC video marketplace with 5,000+ vetted creators, pay-per-video from $99
Looking for a Collabstr alternative? These 8 UGC platforms cover similar use cases — compared on verified pricing, real user ratings, and what each is best for.
Read the full Collabstr reviewAlmost nobody leaves Collabstr because the marketplace stopped working. They leave over three clauses. Usage rights are not included by default: unless rights are written into the order, the Terms of Service (§11) give you a license to use the file "solely for the purpose of approving" it — you have paid for a video you cannot legally run as an ad. The take is roughly 25%, not the advertised 10%, because creators pay a separate 15% on their payout: a $150 listing costs you $165, nets the creator $127.50, and leaves Collabstr $37.50. And §3 locks every brand-creator pair into the platform as their "exclusive method to transact" for eighteen months from the first order, which makes a proven creator expensive to move onto a retainer.
Everything below comes from published pricing pages, terms of service, and help-center articles. Platforms can pay for a placement slot, always labelled Sponsored; it buys visibility only, never a score or a ranking position. We do not buy UGC, so nothing here is presented as hands-on testing, and where a platform hides a number we say so.
| Platform | Starting price | What's different from Collabstr | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| JoinBrands | $25/video advertised + 15% fee (help-center floor $50) | Unlimited usage rights included in the content price | Amazon and TikTok Shop sellers who want rights without negotiating |
| soona UGC (formerly Trend.io) | $89/video | Unlimited worldwide perpetual rights on every approved asset | One video with permanent rights and no subscription |
| Billo | $99/video base, funded via credit packs from around $500 | Brand Terms §8.1 assigns worldwide IP automatically on approval | Managed production where you approve work instead of sourcing it |
| Youdji | $0 platform fee for brands (creators pay 20%) | No buyer-side commission at all | European brands who object to the take rate itself |
| Twirl | $325/video, 4-video first order (about $1,300) | Full usage license, 2 revisions, raw plus final edit bundled | UK and EU campaigns wanting rights and editing in one price |
| Influee | $229/mo + creator fees (videos from about $82) | Digital rights included; creators in 30+ countries, 65-language subtitles | Localized ads outside the US |
| Insense | $400/mo (Brand plan, annual) + 7–20% fee | Perpetual rights on approval, plus Meta and TikTok ad connections | Always-on paid social at steady volume |
| Brands Meet Creators | About $250 per 5-video bundle (example creator) | Escrow releases only when the video actually publishes | TikTok Shop sellers who want to pay on post |
JoinBrands fixes the rights problem outright: its pricing page states purchased content comes with unlimited usage rights, plus TikTok Spark Codes and Instagram Partnership Ad codes at no extra cost. Price it honestly, though, because two JoinBrands documents disagree: the pricing page advertises "UGC Videos $25+" while its own help center sets the minimum for a classic UGC video job at $50 and pre-fills the US builder at $60. Add the platform fee — 15% on the free plan, 8% on the $499/mo Max tier — plus product cost. The trade is refundability: subscriptions, Blast packages, and extra content are non-refundable, and job refunds land in your JoinBrands balance rather than on your card. Trustpilot sentiment is 4.5 across 283 reviews.
If the rights clause is what pushed you to look, soona UGC is the cleanest answer: pay-per-video from $89, rising to about $259 by creator tier, with an unlimited, worldwide, perpetual license on every approved asset at no extra cost. Delivery runs about seven days after the creator receives your product, and there is no subscription — soona eliminated the legacy Trend.io credit packs in its 2026 relaunch. The caveats: legacy Trend.io buyers report credit balances expiring after twelve months and not being honored after the acquisition, the old trend.io Trustpilot profile sits at 2.9 against soona's own 4.0 across 26 reviews, and a media-buyer review called the creator pool skewed toward skincare-type products and weak for premium goods.
If your objection is the take rate itself, Youdji is the structural answer: $0 subscription and 0% commission for brands, funded instead by a 20% commission charged to creators. Escrow, contracts, and invoicing are built in across 11,300+ verified creators in 10+ countries and 45+ languages. Two limits. That 20% is priced into the rates you get quoted — Youdji's own site examples run around $350 per UGC video, $50 for raw footage, and $150 for ads broadcasting rights. And rights work exactly as they do on Collabstr: negotiated per order, never included by default. Youdji has no Trustpilot, G2, Capterra, or Product Hunt profile we could find, so its claims, including sub-one-week delivery, are self-reported.
Insense suits the brand whose real problem is per-order rights admin at volume: $400/mo on the Brand plan billed annually, $500/mo quarterly, plus a 7–20% marketplace fee on every creator payment. Perpetual rights transfer automatically on approval, and Meta Partnership Ads and TikTok Spark Ads connections are built into every plan. The terms are the opposite of a one-off purchase — the $650 trial auto-converts unless cancelled 48 hours ahead, there is no monthly billing, and Trustpilot carries auto-renewal complaints at 3.7 across 187 reviews against a warmer G2 at 4.5 across 374. Move here to operate a program, not to test whether UGC works.
Rights. soona, Billo, JoinBrands, Twirl, and Influee all bundle them, though Influee's license covers digital use only — print and out-of-home are excluded. Note Billo's reverse trade: funding runs through prepaid credit packs from around $500, and its help center and Brand Terms disagree on whether an unused balance is refundable minus a 25% fee or simply stranded.
Take rate. Youdji charges brands nothing, JoinBrands 8–15%, Influee a flat 10% on creator payments, Insense 7–20% by plan. Compare against Collabstr's 25% combined take, not its 10% headline.
The eighteen-month lock. No platform here publishes a promise that it carries no equivalent anti-circumvention term, and we won't invent one for it. If your plan is to find three good creators and keep them, read the exclusivity section of whatever you sign next.
Stay on Collabstr if you buy one or two videos at a time, want to pick the creator yourself, and can review deliverables inside the 72-hour window before an order auto-approves. Nothing is prepaid and nothing expires, the published $50 minimum keeps a pilot cheap, and the free plan beats Premium until you are buying real volume. Premium halves the hiring fee to 5%, so at $399/mo it only pays for itself above $7,980 of monthly creator spend, or $6,660 on annual billing at $333/mo. Then do the two things the platform makes easy to skip: tick usage rights on every order, and diarize the 72 hours.
Switch when you stop testing and start operating. Rights without a per-order negotiation point to soona, JoinBrands, or Billo — and Billo vs Collabstr covers that trade in full. Objecting to the fee itself points to Youdji. Always-on paid social points to Insense. Non-US campaigns point to Influee or Twirl. Paying only when a video actually publishes points to Brands Meet Creators.
