Arcads is an AI video ad platform that turns scripts into UGC-style talking-head ads using a library of 1,000+ AI actors, with emotion control, localization into 30+ languages, and integrations with models like Seedance, Kling, and Sora 2 Pro. It serves performance marketers, D2C brands, mobile app studios, and agencies who need high-volume creative testing. Its differentiator is the depth of its AI actor library and model catalogue rather than real human creators.

  1. 1,000+ AI actor library

The deepest AI UGC actor library in the category for generating talking-head ad variants.

  2. Script-to-video generation

Paste an ad script and generate a finished UGC-style talking-head video without filming.

  3. Emotion control

Adjust the emotional delivery of AI actors to match the hook or product tone.

  4. 30+ language localization

Localize the same ad into 30+ languages for international campaign testing.

  5. Multi-model catalogue

Generates with multiple underlying AI video models including Seedance, Kling, and Sora 2 Pro.

  6. Custom AI avatars

Create brand-specific AI avatars (available on the Pro plan).

  7. Editing tools and workflows

B-rolls, captions, transitions, and team workflow features inside Arcads Studio.

  8. API access

Programmatic high-volume ad generation on the Pro plan.

  • Performance marketing teams already running paid ads who need dozens of talking-head hook variants fast
  • Mobile app studios and D2C brands doing high-volume creative testing on Meta/TikTok
  • Agencies localizing winning ads into many languages
  • Teams that want AI actors instead of managing real UGC creators

Look elsewhere if

  • Brands needing authentic product-in-use footage from real creators (a human UGC marketplace like Billo or Insense fits better)
  • Cheap experimentation — no free trial and a $110/mo entry point make it a poor first test
  • Very short 15-second ads, since billing rounds every video up to a full minute

Pros

  • Deepest AI actor library in the AI-UGC category (1,000+ actors), good for high-volume hook/variant testing
  • Competitive ~$11/video cost for ads close to a minute long
  • Strong model catalogue (Seedance, Kling, Sora 2 Pro) and 30+ language localization
  • Proven traction: $16M seed round (Dec 2025), 6,000+ clients, ~100,000 assets generated per month

Cons

  • Trustpilot rating is poor (2.7/5): reviewers report glitchy, badly lip-synced videos that 'look NOTHING like their ads'
  • Support and refund complaints: one reviewer reported four unanswered emails over 23 days
  • No public pricing page, no free trial or free plan — pricing only visible after creating an account
  • Per-minute round-up billing makes short 15-second ads poor value; one user paid ~£100/mo for effectively 2 usable videos
  • Weak at showing physical product-in-use footage; edits require full re-generation costing another credit
5.4/10Buy it only if you ship near-minute-long ads at volume, keep your cancellation email, and never need to hand the video license to a client.

Built from Arcads’s published pricing and terms, third-party review patterns, and public buyer reports — not from a paid hands-on test. Every price and quoted term was checked on 2026-09-03.

TL;DR: Arcads holds a 2.7/5 TrustScore across 170 Trustpilot reviews, 46% of them one star (Trustpilot (opens in a new tab), verified 2026-09-03). It publishes no pricing page, offers no free trial, and its license is explicitly non-transferable. We did not test the output and take no position on video quality. We read the paperwork, and the paperwork is where the risk sits.

Arcads turns a written script into a UGC-style talking-head video ad using a library its homepage describes as "1,000+ Captivating AI Actors." It raised a $16M seed round led by Eurazeo, announced 2025-12-17 (PR Newswire (opens in a new tab)).

It is also one of the hardest tools in the category to buy safely. There is no free plan, no free trial, and arcads.ai/pricing returns HTTP 404. There is no way to see a price without first creating an account.

This review does not rank the video quality — we have not generated a single video. It answers the question that actually blocks the purchase: what are you agreeing to, and what does a usable ad really cost?

How We Verified This

We did not buy Arcads. CompareUGC does not run paid hands-on tests, and we do not sell a competing generator. Instead of claiming testing we cannot show you, we built this review from four layers of evidence you can re-check yourself in about ten minutes.

Layer 1: documents of record. We pulled arcads.ai/terms, the Arcads Help Center, and the homepage on 2026-09-03 and quote them verbatim with links.

Layer 2: complaint patterns. We clustered public Trustpilot reviews into named, countable failure modes rather than repeating an average score.

Layer 3: cost reconstruction. We rebuilt the cost per shipped ad from the published credit table. Every line is marked QUOTED (official source) or ESTIMATED (our assumption, stated).

Layer 4: disqualifiers. We name the buyer profiles the documents rule out.

Where Arcads does not publish something, we say so. That absence is itself a finding. What we cannot tell you is whether the videos are any good — we have not generated one, and no sentence in this review should be read as a quality test.

What Does Arcads Actually Cost in 2026?

Arcads publishes no price anywhere on its public site. The Help Center does publish the credit allowance: Starter includes "8000 Monthly Credits" and Creator includes "16000 Monthly Credits" (Arcads Help Center (opens in a new tab), July 30, 2026, verified 2026-09-03). Third-party trackers converge on $110 and $220 per month.

We verified the pricing gap directly. On 2026-09-03, https://www.arcads.ai/pricing returned HTTP 404, and the homepage contained zero instances of the strings "pricing," "price," "per month," or "/mo." The footer links to Terms and Privacy. It links to no pricing page and no refund policy.

That is why the prices you find online contradict each other. No one can check them against a public page, because there is not one.

Why do published Arcads prices disagree so badly?

Because the second-hand sources cite each other instead of the credit table. One top-ranking guide states Starter is "$110 per month for 8,000 credits and up to 50 AI UGC videos" (Wireflow (opens in a new tab), July 14, 2026). Another states Starter is $110 for 10 videos (eesel (opens in a new tab), last edited June 17, 2026).

The Help Center settles it. Talking Actor models cost "800 credits per minute, per actor," and "Length is always rounded up" (Arcads Help Center (opens in a new tab), April 29, 2026).

8,000 credits divided by 800 equals 10 one-minute, single-actor talking-actor videos. The "up to 50" figure is only reachable on the cheap per-generation video models, such as Grok at 24 to 304 credits. It is not reachable on Talking Actor, which is the reason people buy Arcads.

Creator16,000$220 (third-party)20No
Pro / Scale / BusinessCustomContact salesCustomYes

Starter and Creator credits "reset each cycle and do not roll over." Only Pro, Scale, and Business roll unused credits forward. On Starter and Creator, "Your account will be temporarily blocked once you reach your monthly credit limit" (Arcads Help Center (opens in a new tab), verified 2026-09-03). There is no top-up. The Terms say a standard-offer client who exceeds their credits "must wait for his subscription to be renewed or request a Customized Offer" (Terms §12.3 (opens in a new tab)); per-credit overage billing exists only on a Customized Offer.

One more data point Arcads publishes without meaning to. Its affiliate page promises "a 25% recurring commission on every transaction for the initial 12 months" and advertises "Refer 10 customers = $573 per month" (Arcads (opens in a new tab), verified 2026-09-03). Back out the commission rate — $57.30 per customer at 25% — and the implied average customer spends about $229 per month, roughly double the Starter entry point. Treat that as marketing arithmetic, not disclosed revenue.

What Does the Fine Print Actually Say?

It says the contract is with a French company, disputes go to Paris, the video license cannot be handed to anyone else, and an actor withdrawal can cost you €100 a day. Every row below is a verbatim quote from an Arcads-controlled document, retrieved 2026-09-03. Nothing here is paraphrased, and none of it appears in the two most-cited third-party Arcads pricing write-ups we checked (Wireflow (opens in a new tab), eesel (opens in a new tab)).

How to cancelABSENT. The Help Center has no article explaining how to cancelHelp Center (opens in a new tab)

Two of those rows deserve emphasis.

The refund policy hinges on producing "a cancellation confirmation email." Arcads' own billing article tells you to "always save your cancellation confirmation email" (Arcads Help Center (opens in a new tab), verified 2026-09-03) — but never says how to trigger one. The Help Center's four collections held 37 articles on 2026-09-03, and not one of them explains how to cancel. The Terms say cancellation happens "via the support tools on the Workspace" (Terms §23 (opens in a new tab)), which is a support request, not a documented self-serve button.

And we have not found an equivalent of the €100-per-day takedown clause in any other AI video terms we have read. The AI actors are derived from real creators, and a creator can withdraw. If that happens, you pull a live ad on Arcads' timetable or accrue a daily penalty.

Why Does Arcads Have 46% One-Star Reviews?

Because the one-star reviews cluster into four repeatable causes — an unrecognizable card descriptor, renewals after cancellation, credits consumed by output the buyer could not use, and unanswered support — and three of the four are commercial, not creative. Arcads holds 2.7/5 across 170 Trustpilot reviews as of 2026-09-03, and the shape matters more than the average: 44% are five stars and 46% are one star, so 90% of reviewers sit at one extreme. The profile is unclaimed, and Arcads has no G2 listing. (Its ProductHunt page shows 4.7 from only 3 reviews — too few to weigh.)

That distribution is not the signature of a mediocre product. It is the signature of a product that satisfies one group of buyers and generates billing friction for another. Below are the recurring, named patterns. This is a reading of public reviews, not our own finding; we did not buy the product, and we have not audited any individual account or verified any reviewer's claim against their billing records.

Pattern 1: the charge does not say "Arcads"

A reviewer in Australia wrote that "Billing appears on the card as 'Freshr SAS', not Arcads which should also be a warning sign" (Sean, Aug 18, 2026). This is factually correct and explains a chunk of the "unauthorized charge" complaints. The Terms confirm the contracting entity is FRESHR SAS, registered in Rouen. Buyers who do not recognize the descriptor dispute the charge instead of contacting support.

Pattern 2: charged after cancelling

The same reviewer reported being "charged A$187.00" after receiving a cancellation confirmation. Another wrote, "My Arcads subscription renewed for €100 without me intending to continue it... I had not used any of the 8,000 credits from the renewed subscription" (Aksels Zingulis, Aug 20, 2026).

The second case is squarely inside the published policy, which promises a full refund when zero credits were used. The gap is enforcement speed, not policy.

Pattern 3: credits burned by unusable output

One reviewer described losing "almost 50% of my MONTHLY credits" to "39 seconds of unusable content, no consistency, characters positioning, background and random clothing/accessories changing" (Jaclyn, Aug 23, 2026). Another wrote that "the generation failed and they still took credits from me" (James Weathers, Jun 4, 2026).

Those two complaints get different treatment, and the refund policy draws the line in Arcads' favor. Arcads "may restore credits (not cash) if a generation failed due to a platform issue," but "credits are only reimbursable when a confirmed platform or system error caused the result," and Arcads decides what counts as confirmed. A generation that runs successfully and returns something you cannot ship is your loss.

Pattern 4: support silence

"Four emails over 23 days and Arcads has not responded once" (Sean, Aug 18, 2026). "I've sent seven emails and used their chat system multiple times. I've gotten nothing in return" (John Uppard, Jun 15, 2026).

Support responsiveness is the single load-bearing dependency in this whole system. Cancellation runs through support. Refunds run through support. The 30-day window runs whether support answers or not.

What Does One Shipped Ad Really Cost?

On our model, $24 to $49 — not the $11 the per-video arithmetic implies. That headline $11 assumes a full one-minute video you keep on the first try. Assume instead a 20-second ad (our assumption, not a measurement) and length is rounded up to a full minute anyway: a 20-second ad costs exactly what a 60-second ad costs.

Here is the model, at $110 for 8,000 credits, or $0.01375 per credit. Every credit figure marked QUOTED comes from the Arcads Help Center credit table (opens in a new tab) (April 29, 2026, verified 2026-09-03); the dollar column is our arithmetic on the third-party $110 price.

Line itemCreditsCostBasis
20-second talking-actor clip (rounds up to 1 min)800$11.00QUOTED
Captions80$1.10QUOTED

Skin enhancer160$2.20QUOTED

Generations available on Starter8,000 ÷ 880 = 9Calculated
Keep rate50% to 25%ESTIMATED
Cost per shipped ad$24 to $49Calculated

The keep rate is our assumption, not a measurement. We anchor the optimistic end at 50% because Arcads is a variant-testing tool where discards are expected, and the pessimistic end at 25% because of the volume of Trustpilot reports describing unusable output. Swap in your own number and the arithmetic still holds.

Three consequences fall out of this model.

Short ads are the worst value. A 15-second hook and a 60-second explainer bill identically. If your entire ad library is sub-30-second creative, you are paying a 2x to 4x length premium on every single generation.

Two-actor formats double the base cost. Credits are counted per actor. A 20-second two-hander with captions costs 1,680 credits, or $23.10 per generation, which caps Starter at four attempts a month.

Hook testing at scale does not fit a standard plan. Thirty single-actor hook variants with captions cost 26,400 credits. Starter provides 8,000 and Creator provides 16,000. That workflow requires a sales conversation, not a checkout.

For rough context, brand-side posters in r/ecommerce (opens in a new tab) comparing human UGC marketplaces describe paying on the order of $50 to $110 per video — self-reported anecdotes, not audited figures. Against that, our modeled $24 to $49 per shipped Arcads ad is genuinely cheaper. It is just not $11. Compare the full category in our UGC platform pricing breakdown.

What Rights Do You Actually Get?

You get a non-exclusive, personal and non-transferable license, granted "for the legal duration of the applicable intellectual property rights and for the world" (Terms §13.3.1 (opens in a new tab)). Note what that is not: it is long-lived and worldwide, but it is not perpetual and it is not ownership. "Non-transferable" is the word that matters most, and neither third-party pricing write-up we checked mentions it.

Non-transferable means the license sits with the account holder. An agency that generates ads on its own Arcads account cannot cleanly hand that license to the client whose product is in the ad. If your deliverable contract promises the client owns the creative, read Terms §13.3.1 before you sign.

Non-exclusive is stated plainly: "FRESHR cannot guarantee that another FRESHR Client will not provide a similar or identical Script or Prompt and choose the same Video Model, generating a Video similar or identical." A competitor can produce a near-identical ad with the same face.

Editing is also constrained twice over. The license permits a closed list of modifications, and anything outside it "must be approved in writing by FRESHR" (Terms §13.3.1 (opens in a new tab)). Separately, the Terms state that to edit a video "they must download the Video in order to make these modifications outside the Platform" (Terms §8.2 (opens in a new tab)). The in-app Kling o1 editor is not a general fix either: the Help Center states "your input video will be automatically trimmed to the first 10 seconds before editing" (Arcads Help Center (opens in a new tab), verified 2026-09-03).

Who Should Not Buy Arcads?

Six profiles, each derived from a document above rather than from taste.

Agencies delivering owned creative to clients. The license is non-transferable. This is a contractual mismatch, not a workflow annoyance.

Anyone whose ads are consistently under 30 seconds. Round-up billing charges you full-minute rates for a 15-second hook. Every generation carries the penalty.

Buyers who need to see a price before purchasing. There is no public pricing page and no free trial. If your procurement process requires a quote before a card, Arcads cannot serve you without a sales call.

Brands selling physical products that need real product-in-use footage. An AI actor is composited with a generated product image rather than filmed holding your actual item, so the footage cannot evidence texture, fit, or genuine use. A human marketplace such as Billo or Insense is the correct category, though note that a poster on r/adops (opens in a new tab) reported being quoted a $5,000 deposit by Billo to unlock certain features — one unverified account, not a published Billo price — so cheaper is not automatic.

Teams that cannot reliably archive a cancellation email. The refund policy explicitly downgrades you to a single month's refund without written proof. Combined with a 72-hour notice requirement and reported support delays, this is a live financial risk.

Anyone who needs a service-level guarantee. The Terms state that "FRESHR offers no guarantee of the Platform's level of service," cap liability at "the amounts received by FRESHR during the 12 months preceding the event," and require any claim to be filed "by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt, within a period of one month following the occurrence of the damage" (Terms §18 (opens in a new tab)).

What Does Arcads Get Right?

Two things: the itemized credit table, and a refund policy that is unusually specific for this category.

The Help Center publishes a complete, per-feature credit table — talking actor, captions, skin enhancer, translation, each priced individually — which is enough to model your own burn rate before you subscribe. The refund policy grants a full refund on any unused billing period within 30 days, plus a 24-hour change-of-mind window on a first charge as a one-time per-account courtesy. Of the AI video platforms we have reviewed, only HeyGen publishes comparable unit-level detail; we have not surveyed the whole category.

Arcads also advertises the largest AI actor library in this category — "1,000+ Captivating AI Actors" on its own homepage. That is a vendor claim; we have not audited it against competitors' counts.

And 44% of Trustpilot reviewers gave five stars, several of them citing paid-media results. For high-volume performance teams shipping near-minute-long talking-head variants in multiple languages, the unit cost above is defensible. Whether the output is good enough is a question this review deliberately does not answer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Arcads have a free trial?

No. Arcads publishes no free plan and no free trial, and arcads.ai/pricing returned HTTP 404 when we checked on 2026-09-03. Third-party pricing write-ups report that plans appear only after account creation, at an in-app paywall; we did not create an account, so we cannot confirm that ourselves. A promotional "7 days unlimited Seedance 2.5" offer was on the homepage on that date, but the homepage itself says "Subscribe before the offer ends," and the Terms subject promotional "unlimited" offers to fair-use, speed and concurrency limits (Terms §12.5 (opens in a new tab)).

Can I get a refund from Arcads?

Yes, under narrow conditions. A full refund applies if you used zero generation credits in the billing period and request it within 30 days of the charge. Arcads states the 30-day limit is "firm" with no exceptions. Poor output quality alone does not qualify for any refund or credit reimbursement.

How many videos does the $110 Starter plan really produce?

Ten one-minute, single-actor talking-actor videos. Starter includes 8,000 credits, and Talking Actor models cost 800 credits per minute per actor with length always rounded up. Guides claiming "up to 50 videos" are describing cheap per-generation models, not the talking-actor workflow most buyers subscribe for.

Can an agency give the Arcads video to its client?

Not cleanly. The Terms grant a "non-exclusive, personal and non-transferable license on the Video." If your client contract assigns ownership of delivered creative, that conflicts with the Arcads license. Confirm with your own counsel before delivering Arcads output under a work-for-hire agreement.

Is Arcads legitimate?

Yes. Arcads is operated by FRESHR SAS, a French company registered under number 832 905 327 with the Rouen Registry of Trade and Companies, and it raised a $16M seed round led by Eurazeo announced on 2025-12-17 (PR Newswire (opens in a new tab)). The complaints concentrate on billing friction, support response times, and output consistency rather than on the company being fraudulent.
